Optimum Voyage is a weather routing and voyage optimization company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 2016, the company optimizes 700+ vessels every day for shipowners, operators and charterers worldwide, with 30+ employees across 5 offices.
The approach differs from traditional weather routing in one important way: route and speed are optimized together, not sequentially. Millions of route and speed variations are tested for every active voyage using vessel-specific consumption models, draft-dependent performance data and directional weather analysis, and every voyage is re-optimized daily as new forecasts arrive. Optimization modes cover minimum cost, on-time arrival, charterparty operation, and latest or earliest arrival, with routing for wind-assisted propulsion coming later in 2026.
Every recommendation is reviewed by experienced maritime professionals before it reaches the Master, and the operations team is available seven days a week. The Master always retains final navigational authority.

Fully run by the Optimum Voyage operations team. Daily routing advice to the vessel, commercial reporting to the operator, dynamic AIS updated every 15 minutes, noon reporting with validation at input, post-voyage analysis and claims assistance.

Results are published with sources
TORM, across 90+ product tankers, reported 10% lower fuel consumption, 13% less time in bad weather and 1 to 2% faster voyages (source: TORM). Prospective clients can evaluate the service on a trial voyage, a shadow voyage, or through executed voyage optimization, which re-optimizes a completed voyage on archived forecasts with no hindsight bias.
Independent claims analysis
Optimum Voyage also provides independent charterparty speed and consumption claims analysis for owners, charterers and operators. Our claims team includes active members of LMAA, HKMAG, SCMA and CIArb.
